Item Dying [Details Inside]
As some of you might know there are some items that can't be dyed when found as drops for example:
The default color of the Canthan artifact is Yellow.
Collector item: dyeable
Drop: not dyeable
Crafted item: not dyeable
(from wiki)
I find this lame, the common ones are dyeable and the hard ones to find undyeable.
Anyone else agree that the dropped versions should be dyeable aswell?

It would also be nice to dye green items :P Since some of them are actually dyeable.

Unique items are meant to be unique. Plus all we'll see is people dying their stuff black, to match their black armour.

well, not everyone as I happen to not like most things dyed black, but you do have a point. I'd rather see items with seperate dyeable areas. Dye zone 1 and dye zone 2 as it were. Granted, this could lead to gross tastelessness, but it'd be nice if all paragon armour didn't have to be white somewhere, or to add tints to the steel sections of alot of warrior armour, or to make that Dragon on the mesmer elite canthan armour some colour other then gold, etc.

I'd like to see all weapon skins dyeable, and noticeably so (no more of that "dye only effects the hilt/tiny parts you can barely notice" shit)...

I use the skin myself, and mine is not dye-able either.
On the side: I thought the title of this thread was referring to items 'durability', lol. Which makes me wonder, why is there no item durability system in guild wars? How can all weapons remain 100% functional even after you have used them for ages. Doesn't look realistic...

An Ele calling down Meteors from heaven doesn't look realistic too.
Anyways, I'd like to have some more dye options too, be it all weapons are different areas.

I'd like to have the option to dye my items, perhaps not the Greens, but the rest. Also making the dye noticable is helpful. My Undead Staff seems to 'take' dye, but the colour does not change...

Lol, it's a skill - grow over it. If I apply your argument, then Healing Spring (a trap ranger skill) is unrealistic too since I don't see a spring....

Um, I think you fail to realise that Arduinna was pointing out a flaw in the previous post regarding the realistic-ness of game mechanics.

May be I'm reading wrong, what flaw is Arduinna referring to that I failed to catch?

First of all I apologize for the thread's name (didn't know what other name to give), this idea doesn't have to do with realisticness.
Like EinherjarMx said he would like to dye his storm artifact. I'm sure there are other people that have the same problem with other items and are probably forced to use collectors ones.
This thread is mainly to address this: Gold/Purple/Blue dropped and crafted items should be dyeable just like their collector counterparts.
Can a mod rename the thread to something better please to avoid more confusion. Thanks in advance.

Eh, perhaps I am the one reading it wrong. It just seemed to me that her arguement was quite valid, and that Metoer Shower is the oft used example because of it's ludicrous nature.
